I am really excited that spring is finally here. The weather is incredible and people all over the country are starting to enjoy time on the water in their boats.
In what is now a spring wakeboarding tradition, Nautique is excited to again be kicking off this year’s pro wakeboarding season by holding the Air Nautique Wake Games this weekend (April 23-26) here in Orlando at the Orlando Watersports Complex (OWC).
The Air Nautique Wake Games is an exciting start to the tournament season that amateurs and pros alike look forward to all winter. This unique event allows the amateurs to compete with the pros and this year we have a record number of athletes registered. We expect over 200 of the best wakeboarders in the world to be competing at this one-of-a-kind event.
OWC, here in the watersports capital of the world (and our home town), is a unique environment to host the Air Nautique Wake Games. The venue is perfect for seeing all the great action up close and getting to watch your favorite wakeboarding stars compete to kick off the season with big wins.
I hope that you will join us for this fun weekend. I will be at the event both Saturday and Sunday and hope you will stop by our Nautique booth to say hi. I would love to meet you and also show you the incredible new Nautique boats we will have on display.
So, bring your friends and family and be ready for a great weekend!
On another note, this week I received an email from our dealer in Ontario, Canada, (Pride of Muskoka) that included some pictures of the Pride team taking their first wakeboarding runs of the season. On your right you will see one of those pictures. If you are wondering, the air temperature was in the 50’s and the water temperature was in the low 30’s! That’s passion!
Finally – YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST – We are thrilled to announce that two members of the Nautique family are expecting their first baby! Kevin and his wife, Team Nautique rider and wakeboarding legend Emily Copeland Durham, came to see me yesterday with the news that they are expecting a new member of their family in November. I am incredibly excited for Kevin and Emily. They will both be at the Wake Games this weekend so look for them there and congratulate them on this big news.
See you this weekend…
Enjoy the Nautique life!
