Nautique team in Ethiopia

New friends in Ethiopia

At Nautique we not only want to build the world’s best boats, we also want to use our time and other resources to help make the world a better place.

Over the past few years our team has demonstrated their desire to serve others by building two houses for needy families in Mexico and helping build two other houses on the Apache reservation in Arizona. During this time we have also worked with homeless teen mothers in Nicaragua and built beds for disadvantaged families in Guatemala.

This past week a small group from our company had the opportunity to visit an organization we support in Ethiopia, Project Mercy. Project Mercy is an incredible organization that has had a dramatic impact on an innumerable number of lives in Ethiopia.

The founders of Project Mercy, Deme and Marta, started work over twenty years ago in an impoverished area of Ethiopia with 100% illiteracy, no school and no hospital. After years of hard work, today they have a school with over 1,400 students, a hospital, pregnancy center, and an orphanage for children with no living parents. They have started businesses making bead bracelets and straw baskets that help support their organization but, more importantly, provide local women with skills they can use to support their families. They have also taught men construction skills and helped teachers get certifications that aid them in supporting their families.

It was exciting for our team to see the marvelous work done by organizations that our work helps support. It is energizing for our team to know that the fruits of our labor go to helping organizations around the world like Project Mercy. If you are interested in learning more about Project Mercy, or even better helping support them, I highly encourage you to click HERE for more information.

To those of you who own a Nautique and are already a part of our family, thank you for your support and loyalty to our company and for helping us to try to make the world a little better. Our Chairman Emeritus, Ralph Meloon, reminds me often that we are building boats for a bigger purpose that ourselves and we appreciate everyone who plays a role in that. It is true, Nautique Cares.

If you are not yet part of our Nautique family, we invite you to join us, you can find a dealer in your area by clicking HERE.

Enjoy the Nautique life!
