The all-new Nautique Wake Series will kick off next week with the Nautique Wake Games held at the Orlando Watersports Complex. Designed to give riders of all ages and skill levels the opportunity to compete at the very highest level of competition our sport has to offer, each event will be pulled behind the award winning Super Air Nautique G23 and G21. This new series will include the Nautique Wake Games, Nautique WWA Wakeboard Nationals, WWA Wakestock, and the debut of the all-new Nautique Wake Open. Jr. Pro Men, Pro Women, Pro Wakeskate, and Pro Men overall Nautique Wake series winners will take home a cash prize and receive an invite to the 2015 U.S Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament along with those who place second through sixth in those divisions.
A competition that has always attracted the best athletes in the world; this years Nautique Wake Games will see Team Nautique riders Shaun Murray, Bob Soven, Danny Harf, Raimi Merritt, Noah Flegel, Jimmy LaRiche, Josh Twelker, Kyle Rattray, J.D Webb, Jeff McKee, Shawn Watson, Brandon Thomas, Emily Copeland-Durham, and Meagan Ethell on the water. Top contender and innovative Nautique rider Mike Dowdy was sidelined with an injury earlier this year and will be on hand for interviews and commentating with MC “Dano the Mano” throughout the weekend.
Returning to competition for the first time since 2012, Team Nautique’s Meagan Ethell looks to pick right up where she left off, dominating the Pro Women field. Meagan was named the 2012 Queen of Wake at just 15 years old placing consistently at the top against the best in the world with wins at Wake Games, multiple Pro Tour stops, and becoming the World Champion all in just one season.
“I’m excited to be back and to get to ride with everyone again this year. I’ve been training very hard at home behind my G23 and I’m ready to go! Thanks to the Nautique Wake Series, we get to ride behind the G23 all season and everyone’s riding will be at its best!” – Meagan Ethell
