Meagan Ethell returns to the top at the 2014 Nautique Wake Games.

With perfect conditions and the G-Series wakes cranking, the 2014 Nautique Wake Games saw impressive riding from over 212 competitors over four days at the Orlando Watersports Complex. Team Nautique athlete Meagan Ethell reclaimed her spot at the top of the podium this past weekend winning the Nautique Wake Games held at the Orlando Watersports Complex. Riding strong in the qualifying rounds Meagan squashed any doubt that she was back on her game both off the wake and on the rails charging every trick in her run. Sidelined last season with a knee injury, Meagan was more focused than ever and showed that all of her hard work had definitely paid off.

“Coming back at the Wake Games was awesome. The conditions were perfect and it doesn’t get any better than riding behind the G23. All the girls rode great and it felt awesome to get the win. I can’t wait for the next Nautique Wake Series stop. Thanks Nautique!” – Meagan Ethell

Also on the Pro Women’s podium was Nautique’s Raimi Merritt, who rode her way to a third place finish this weekend going absolutely HUGE off the G23 wake.

In the Pro Men’s Division Team Nautique had standout runs from J.D. Webb who shocked the crowd with a fresh new run that looked to be a reinvention of himself and his unique style getting him into the semi finals. Also in the semis was Nautique athlete Noah Flegel in his first ever contest as a pro with stand up technical runs all weekend long. Making it through all of the rounds and into the finals, new team rider Josh Twelker put his west coast style on display in and exciting and competitive round that left him in 6th place.

The 2014 Nautique Wake Games was the first of four stops of the Nautique Wake series. Each Nautique Wake Series event will feature all amateur divisions, Pro Women, Jr. Pro Men, Pro Wakeskate and Pro Men.

The 2014 Nautique Wake Series Kicks off with Wake Games Next Week

The all-new Nautique Wake Series will kick off next week with the Nautique Wake Games held at the Orlando Watersports Complex. Designed to give riders of all ages and skill levels the opportunity to compete at the very highest level of competition our sport has to offer, each event will be pulled behind the award winning Super Air Nautique G23 and G21. This new series will include the Nautique Wake Games, Nautique WWA Wakeboard Nationals, WWA Wakestock, and the debut of the all-new Nautique Wake Open. Jr. Pro Men, Pro Women, Pro Wakeskate, and Pro Men overall Nautique Wake series winners will take home a cash prize and receive an invite to the 2015 U.S Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament along with those who place second through sixth in those divisions.

A competition that has always attracted the best athletes in the world; this years Nautique Wake Games will see Team Nautique riders Shaun Murray, Bob Soven, Danny Harf,  Raimi Merritt, Noah Flegel, Jimmy LaRiche, Josh Twelker, Kyle Rattray, J.D Webb, Jeff McKee, Shawn Watson, Brandon Thomas, Emily Copeland-Durham, and Meagan Ethell on the water. Top contender and innovative Nautique rider Mike Dowdy was sidelined with an injury earlier this year and will be on hand for interviews and commentating with MC “Dano the Mano” throughout the weekend.

Returning to competition for the first time since 2012, Team Nautique’s Meagan Ethell looks to pick right up where she left off, dominating the Pro Women field. Meagan was named the 2012 Queen of Wake at just 15 years old placing consistently at the top against the best in the world with wins at Wake Games, multiple Pro Tour stops, and becoming the World Champion all in just one season.
