For the first time ever, the Nautique WWA Wakeboard National Championships incorporated disciplines in both boat and cable competition bringing together a diverse field of competitors for an epic event. Also adding to the excitement was the release of the all-new Super Air Nautique 210 and 230 both on display all week with the 210 serving as the official towboat for all wakeskate divisions.
In the Pro Women’s division, Team Nautique rider Emily Copeland Durham finished in third place with a stand up run showing off her smooth style and execution all weekend.
“I’m so happy to have had a stand up run at Nationals and felt right at home riding behind the Super Air Nautique G23. Thank you Nautique, I had so much fun!” – Emily Copeland-Durham
Team Nautique’s Bob Soven stunned the crowd taking 1st place in the cable features event among the top cable riders in the world. Moving on to the boat side, Bob worked his way into the semi-final round with a run that consisted of regular and switch toeside 900’s, a backside 720, and big stylistic maneuvers that the crowd favorite is known for behind the Super Air Nautique G23. An unfortunate fall during his second pass in the semi’s kept him from advancing on.
Making it through to the finals Team Nautique rider J.D. Webb finished 6th place landing a toeside backside 720 during his run.
“I want to thank Nautique for making this event happen that gets us all together. Whether you ride boat or cable we all love wakeboarding. Thanks everyone for helping make this sport everything that it is today.” – Bob Soven
