Team Nautique athletes Whitney and Jason McClintock along with Brooks and K.C Wilson were out at Matt Rini’s O.C. Waterski Club pulling people behind the Ski Nautique 200 this past weekend in an event to raise awareness and money for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. Fifty skiers came out to demo product, hang out with the pros, and ski with the best coaches in the world. Everybody had a great time on the water and the day was a ton of fun! After the day event everybody headed over to The Villas of Grand Cypress for an off the water social event. Famous waterski photographer Bill Doster auctioned off twenty off his favorite photos with all proceeds going to the Prevent Cancer Foundation. Overall it was a great event and awesome time for the waterski community. People loved getting to ski behind the Ski Nautique 200 and many commented about how it was the best boat they had skied behind.

The 2012 Nautique Wake Games saw some of the most progressive contest riding to date as athletes from all around the world got their first chance to ride the game changing wake of the Super Air Nautique G23. Pass after pass no wakeboard competition has ever seen more smiles, and excitement as each rider left the water.
The big news is the historic landings of two wake-to-wake 1080’s during the event. In all of wakeboarding history a wake-to-wake 1080 has never been landed in any competition anywhere in the world but Nautique’s revolutionary new G23 changed that. Two (that’s right, two) wake-to-wake 1080’s were landed behind the G23! Harley Clifford made history landing a wake-to-wake toeside 1080 for the first time ever in competition. Immediately following Harley off the dock ,Oliver Derome cranked out a second wake-to-wake 1080 putting the icing on the cake and solidifying the realization that the world of wakeboarding has just been taken to higher level.
Team Nautique athlete’s Bob Soven, Jimmy Lariche, and Shaun Murray all had amazing runs in the quarterfinal round advancing through to the semifinals. Making it through to the final round Bob Soven put together a run that mixed big stylish tricks with technical mastery placing him on the podium in third place. Team Nautique wakeskate style master Brandon Thomas rode strong all week taking home a third place podium finish as well. In the Pro Women’s division, Nautique rider Raimi Merritt went huge with stand up passes earning a second place finish to start off the 2012 season.
After the final, Nautique hosted the first ever Wake Games double up contest and expression session giving the riders a chance to go for broke off the massive Super Air Nautique G23 wake. Starting it off right, Team Nautique rider Jimmy LaRiche launched a huge nosegrab cab 900 to clinch the win.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better start to the season,” said Bob Soven. “ The riding that went down this weekend was amazing and Nautique has given all of us the platform to take this sport to the next level with the G23!” Soven added.
