The 2010 Masters of Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament

Posted by admin

The 2010 Masters was more exciting than ever with four Team Nautique Athletes taking the podium in their respective divisions and Wakeskating making its debut as the newest event added to the most prestigious Water Ski and Wakeboard competition in the world. It was also a big weekend for our new Ski Nautique 200, making it’s first debut at the Masters, towed four new records!

Nautique’s own Clementine Lucine set a course record in the Women’s Trick division during the elimination round with a score of 8640 making her top seed going into the final where she placed second with a score of 7250. Whitney McClintock took home first place in Women’s Trick with 8340 points and took home a third place finish in Slalom making 3 buoys @ 38-off.

The top four wakeskaters in the world were invited to the Masters this year as wakeskating made its debut behind the Super Air Nautique 210 Byerly Icon edition with none other than Team Nautique rider Brandon Thomas taking home the win.

“It was a great honor to be invited to this event and I trained harder than I ever have leading up to the Masters. I really wanted to bring home this win for Nautique and be able to stake claim to taking the first ever Masters Wakeskate Title. The vibe and the contest site were insane, there were a lot of people there that had never seen competitive wakeskating before and I’m pumped that we had the opportunity to showcase our sport at such a world class event. It was a great feeling to perform in front of the pavilion on Robin Lake and see the crowd’s reaction while we were on the water. I want to give a big thanks to Nautique for including wakeskating in the Masters and I can’t wait for next year” said Thomas.

The Wakeboard event produced one of the most intense and exciting finals we have ever seen with riders putting down runs that could have won on any given day. When the scores came in Bob Soven from Team Nautique finished third place and fellow Nautique Team rider Danny Harf in fourth.
