For the 18th year, Team Nautique skier Rhoni Barton Bischoff has been selected to be a part of the 2009 U.S. Elite Water Ski Team. Rhoni received this honor following the conclusion of the 2009 U.S. Water Ski Team Trials which took place June 19-21 in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.
As a member of this esteemed six-member team, Rhoni will compete in the 31st Water Ski World Championships which will take place in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, August 4-9. The United States has won four consecutive world team titles at the world championships, held biyearly. At the last world championships, she was the only U.S. Team skier in which case all of her scores were used to beat out France for the victory.
It has been about a week now since we released the Ski Nautique 200 preview video and people have had a chance to get a glimpse at this revolutionary, new boat! I can say that this has been the most uplifting and exciting launch of a ski boat I have ever been involved with. This past Saturday, I arrived at a clinic in Indiana and had two people come up to me and say they already ordered their own Ski Nautique 200, unseen! Also, earlier this week, we introduced the boat to The Water Skier magazine, and got to discuss with them what this means to the sport and industry as Nautique is stretching its lead once again in advancing the sport of water skiing.
The Ski Nautique 196 was our base starting point for this new boat, which was already legendary, but the Ski Nautique 200 hull is all-new and much improved! As the boat is coming down the lake, the part I love to see most is the front spray diffusers. This is a very unique design on the underside of the hull that captures the previously wasted spray energy. The 200 actually uses the forces of the water to not only break down the spray, but to also create the necessary and right amount of lift under the hull. Controlling the spray is a big thing when skiing into a wind as the spray can negatively affect the wake. Also, now that there is minimal spray at the back of the boat and sides, this allows for greater skier visibility, even at 41-off.
Along with greatly reducing the spray, we also modified the Hydro-Gate which works in conjunction with the hull to roll the wake sooner and create significantly less trough. What does filling in the trough do? It allows the skier to keep his/her ski in contact with the water longer behind the boat, thus creating a stronger position and better direction. And, this is the good part — without even realizing it you are released much earlier from the pull of the boat, for a much smoother exit. Just look at the sneak preview video we released last week – you will not see a trough behind the new Ski Nautique 200.
As you can probably tell, I am having fun with this boat! Stay tuned to Team Nautique for more updates and pictures leading up to our official launch of this revolutionary ski boat. Also, contact your nearest Nautique dealer to find out how you can make the Ski Nautique 200 your new ski boat.
Orlando, FLA (June 22, 2009) – This past weekend, Team Nautique battled hard at the Pro Wakeboard Tour stop held in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin to claim two first place victories.
Canadian wakeboarding star and Team Nautique rider Aaron Rathy rode strong all weekend and was awarded with the first place title in the Pro Men’s division. As a result, Rathy now leads both the Pro Tour and the King of Wake standings lists. Rathy commented on his win by stating, “I’m stoked to get my first win and pumped that I came out on top with another Team Nautique rider, Bob Soven.”
In the Jr. Pro Men’s division, Team Nautique wakeboarder Bob Soven also had outstanding performances at the Pro Wakeboard Tour stop and emerged as the clear winner with a final score of 98.00 yesterday. Soven’s victory marks his second Pro Tour stop win of the ’09 season; he continues his lead in the Jr. Pro Men’s standings.
“All of us on the Nautique team are thrilled that Team Nautique riders Rathy and Soven emerged as the clear winners at this past weekend’s tournament. It is exciting to see our Nautique athletes continue to outperform the competition during the ’09 season,” stated Correct Craft President/CEO Bill Yeargin. “We have the top wakeboarders and water skiers in the industry who benefit from training behind the world’s best boat, Nautique.” added Yeargin.

Nautique has done the unbelievable. They have developed a ski boat like no other in the industry, a boat that will completely revolutionize our industry.
Me (Andy Mapple) behind a SN200
When I joined the Nautique team, the current boat was the Ski Nautique 2001. In the 27 years since I’ve been on the team, Nautique has had only three new tournament ski boats. Each time they have revolutionized the industry and set the competition on a multi-year quest to try and catch up. Now, they’ve done it again.
The team at Nautique has really outdone themselves. The all-new Ski Nautique 200 is truly revolutionary. Revolutionary from not only a much improved wake shape and design standpoint, but also the entire look of this boat is very forward-thinking and innovative. The amount of storage is greater than any other boat in the industry. The helm design is completely repositioned which dramatically improves the driver’s view. Open bow and closed bow versions are identical – there is one hull and two decks. Their common hull has greater lift, allowing it to ride higher on the water, creating the softest wake in ski boat history. Needless to say, the time and investment the company has made to this boat and the sport of water skiing makes me very proud of my association to Nautique.
Last week Nautique made its first showing of the all-new Ski Nautique 200 to key industry representatives. During this first preview day, our videographers were onsite to capture everyone’s reactions first hand. Check out the video below to hear more about their thoughts and better understand why the Ski Nautique 200 will truly revolutionize the skiing industry once again.
Again, Nautique, like all its ski boats before, has written a new chapter in water ski boats, one that only Nautique could write. Stay tuned to Team Nautique for continual updates, videos and pictures leading up to our official launch of this all-new ski boat. Also, make sure you visit your nearest Nautique dealer to learn how you can call the Ski Nautique 200 your very own.
The Byerly Toe Jam made history this past weekend becoming the first ever event held at Nautique Corporate Headquarters in Orlando Florida. The best wakeskaters in the world came to test their skills against one another in an intense head to head format behind the Byerly Icon edition – Super Air Nautique 210.
“I am stoked that I was able to work with Nautique in putting on the 2009 Byerly Toe Jam,” said Byerly. “Nautique has been behind the toe jam event since day one and Nautique’s corporate headquarters was the ideal setting for a wake battle among the world’s best riders,” added Byerly.
As the Byerly boat served up perfect wakes for the riders Byerly himself was serving up burgers, drinks, and music for the crowd. The site which is normally used for testing the worlds highest quality towboats was turned into what resembled a music festival overnight and proved to be an amazing venue for this event.
“We are thrilled that we were able to partner with long time Nautique rider and wakeskating Legend Scott Byerly in putting on the first professional event at our world headquarters,” stated Correct Craft President/CEO Bill Yeargin. “We look forward to hosting more prestigious events on Nautique soil in the future,” added Yeargin.
