WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING TO DO WHEN YOU’RE NOT WATER SKIING?
I love golfing when I get the chance, but I spend most of my non-ski time with my family! Our newest edition Jaxson, our pups Ronnie and Sasha, and my wife Jaime. I love every minute with them.
NAME YOUR FAVORITE PLACE WATER SKIING HAS TAKEN YOU?
Might seem strange, but the Pan Am Games in Toronto. Obviously not a different place only being 45 minutes from my home in Canada, but the experience that came with that competition was amazing and the most memorable in my career. Competing for Canada on such a huge stage so near to my home town was wild, and tying for Gold with the World Record Holder Nate Smith made it all so much more intense. I finished 2nd after a run off, with only 1 buoy between us.
TELL US AN INTERESTING FACT THAT MOST PEOPLE DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU.
I love teaching people about slalom skiing! I spend my summers coaching Ontario kids and watching them improve at each tournament we go to.
WHAT ARE THE TOP THREE MOST PLAYED SONGS IN YOUR PLAYLIST?
Toes- Glass Animals
Can’t Feel my Face- The Weeknd
DO YOU HAVE A PRE-RUN ROUTINE YOU DO BEFORE CONTESTS FOR GOOD LUCK?
I’ve been trying to keep it relaxed. Get the main body parts prone to injury loosened up and focus on my main keys before hitting the water. Staying relaxed keeps my tournament sets more like my home sets.
WHAT HAS BEEN THE BIGGEST ACCOMPLISHMENT OF YOUR CAREER?
This one comes back to the Pan Am Games again. My slalom run in the finals running 39 and tying Nate taking the gold metal fight to a run off was crazy. It was a tight battle and made for an amazing show for the crowd!
IF YOU COULD GIVE SOMEONE ONE PIECE OF ADVICE; WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Take care of your body! Eat well, stay fit, and you’ll be able to enjoy your life.
