Nautique Cares - Africa
With students at the orphanage in Uganda
Nautique has a long history of supporting organizations around the globe that are trying to make the world a better place. That legacy continues today stronger than ever.
Occasionally we have the opportunity to actually visit organizations we support and see the wonderful work they are doing first hand. That happened last week when I traveled to Africa with a small group of Nautique employees.
Our first stop was Kenya where we visited with Andrew and Abby Lettsome who help run an organization that is having a significant positive impact on their country. We visited churches, a school and a couple of orphanages that they operate. It was impressive to see the impact they are having in their effort to make the lives of Kenyans better.
After Kenya we traveled to Uganda where we visited with Jay and Vicki Dangers who founded an amazing organization called New Hope Uganda. Their organization cares for over six hundred orphans in addition to a vocational school, institute, radio station, maze center, and many other ways they are helping the people of Uganda. The citizens of Uganda have significantly suffered over the past few decades and it was impressive to spend time with people who are working to comfort their people and make their country better.
We also brainstormed with our hosts in both countries regarding how Nautique can help them more. We discussed helping them with strategic planning, developing a leadership conference Nautique would produce, and even helping New Hope Uganda get a boat for a new facility they are opening on Lake Victoria.
After visiting Uganda Greg Meloon and I also had the opportunity to visit with our dealer and customers in both South Africa and Namibia. It was a business visit but we enjoyed the opportunity to see the impressive job our dealer Don Shead and the Ski World team do representing Nautique in these countries.
At Nautique we are about way more than building boats. We want to use our resources to help those who need help and make the world a better place. It is exciting to be part of an organization that truly cares.
The world’s best ski boat; the world’s best wake boat; and, a company that cares.
Enjoy the Nautique life!
