Astronaut Visits Nautique09/03/10   

People from all over the world come to Orlando to visit the Nautique factory and see how we build our Nautique boats. Over the course of a year we have visitors from dozens of countries but this week was a little different as we actually had a
Nautique owner come visit us who has been out of this world!

Charles “Scorch” Hobaugh, veteran NASA astronaut and Nautique owner, came by to see our facility and spend time with our team.

During Scorch’s visit we had the opportunity to enjoy lunch together. Joining us at lunch was Team Nautique skier Chris Parrish and his dad Mike (who works at NASA). During lunch I enjoyed hearing about how Scorch enjoys spending time with his family on their Ski Nautique. Scorch is a skier who enjoys the best. Once you have flown the Shuttle a few times I would guess you have a pretty high expectation for your boat and I was thrilled to hear how happy Scorch was with his Nautique.

I have written numerous times about how spending time on a Nautique is the best way you can invest in your family and Scorch has enjoyed using his Nautique with his family of six.

Scorch is a very inspiring guy who also met with our product development team and spent time touring our factory. Hearing him share stories with our product development team was not only exciting but a real learning time for our employees. We have a culture of learning and continuous improvement at Nautique and I can think of few better ways to expand our horizons than spending time with an astronaut; especially one who loves Nautique.

Few of us will have the opportunity to fly to space in the shuttle but we do have the opportunity to own a Nautique, the world’s best boat. If you too have high expectations for the products you use, our team encourages you to check out our new Nautique boats at a dealer near you. We invite you to join the Nautique family and experience the joy of the Nautique community.
