2014 Masters - Best Ever!!
Bill with his friend Edward Callaway of Callaway Gardens.
Bill with Masters champs, Jacinta Carroll, Erika Lang, and Whitney McClintock!
I am not even sure where to start in writing about the 2014 Masters! What an amazing weekend!
We had incredible athletic performances with at least six course records, Big Dawg skiers on the water for the first time, four new Masters champions, beautiful weather, flawless boat performance, huge crowds on the beach, even larger numbers of people watching the webcast, the best ever execution of the event by an amazing team, and a surprise announcement at the closing banquet!
I had many people who had been to decades of Masters come up and tell me it was the best ever and while I have not been to decades of Masters I must agree. Beautiful Callaway Gardens was in top form and everyone had a blast both during the competition and in the off hours. So much to do both on and off the water!
Course records seemed to be constantly falling behind the record setting and worlds best ski boat; the Ski Nautique 200. The industry agrees that there has not even been a close second to the Ski Nautique 200 and if seventeen world records in its short life were not enough evidence of the amazing performances this weekend proved it once again.
Wakeboarding was no different as we saw once again this weekend why the Super Air Nautique G23 won Boat of the Year and the industry’s Most Innovative Product. The wakeboard performances were unbelievable and in particular the men’s wakeboard final had the crowds going crazy. For the first time ever in wakeboard competition a 1080, double roll and a crow mobe 720 were all landed in the same competition! No one had ever seen anything like it before and everyone agreed all those three tricks in less than an hour could only be landed behind the industry preferred and record setting Super Air Nautique G23. The crowd was going wild!
Additionally, the wakeskating behind the recently introduced Super air Nautique G21 completely blew the minds of the crowd. Amazing tricks and athletic performances behind the perfect G21 wake had everyone amazed at the incredible performances.
I mentioned above that we also had a surprise announcement at the closing banquet on Sunday night. Our very own Team Nautique skier Clementine Lucine gave me the honor of announcing to the crowd that this September we will have a new Nautique baby in the family! Congrats to her and Pierre!
Finally, we were also able to use the Masters to help us promote an incredible cause. As most know by now Nautique has donated a new Super Air Nautique G21 to As Our Own, and amazing organization in India helping girls at high risk for human trafficking. The donated boat is being given away by As Our Own and I strongly encourage you to learn how you could win the boat at asourown.org.
What a great weekend! Plan to join us next year for the 2015 Masters next Memorial Day weekend at beautiful Callaway Gardens just outside of Atlanta!
The world’s best ski boat, the world’s best wake boat, and a company that cares!
