ORLANDO, FLA (March 7, 2013) – Nautique announces the addition of two of Malaysia’s top waterski athletes, Phillipa Yoong and Aaliyah Yoong Hanifah to Nautique’s Asian Team. Phillipa and Aaliyah join Saaya Hirosawa of Japan and Jimmy Jeong of Korea on the Nautique Asian team.

Phillipa won Malaysia’s first ever waterski gold medal. She has won the IWWF Asian overall title the last two years in addition to two more gold medals in slalom and the overall championship at the 2011 Southeast Asian Games. Phillipa is looking to win a third consecutive title at the 2013 IWWF Asian Championships in Indonesia this September.

“This is a great honor for me personally to receive recognition from the world’s best tow boat manufacturer. This will spur me to continue training and to aim for greater performance,” stated Phillipa Yoong.

Nine year old prodigy Aaliyah Yoong Hanifah is the current Asian U17 girls trick champion two years in a row, plus, is the youngest person to ever to win women tricks at the 2011 South East Asian (SEA) Games. She will be competing at the Junior Moomba Masters in Melbourne, Australia this week.

Aaliyah commented, “This is an incredible opportunity for me. With this recognition from Nautique I will focus on my next major target which is to win the Asian open women tricks title in 2014.”
