The Effects of E15 in the Marine Industry

Due to the recent approval of E15 by the United States government, we would like to make sure all boat and marine engine owners are informed of this change. The National Marine Manufacturer Association (NMMA) along with several marine engine manufacturers have tested the effects of the 15% ethanol containing fuel and have found the results to be damaging. You will be seeing E15 at your local gas station and everyone should be aware that fuels containing more than the 10% ethanol of E10 such as E15, SHOULD NOT BE USED in any boat or marine engine.

Gasoline containing more than 10% ethanol such as E15 could potentially damage the engine, fuel system components, and/or present an unsafe boating condition. Damage to the engine and fuel system components resulting from the use of gasoline containing more than 10% ethanol is not covered by the warranty. Nautique highly recommends checking with your manufacturer regarding their policy concerning E15.
